Second national lockdown
Further to the Government’s announcement on Saturday evening (31 October 2020) regarding the new nation-wide lockdown taking effect from Thursday 5th November at 00:01, we advise that, subject to ratification in the Commons on Wednesday this week, the Memorial Hall and Greenacre Centre will be closed during the new lockdown period. The last hire session will therefore be the evening of Wednesday 4th November 2020.
At this time, the Government has a stated lockdown period from Thursday 5th November to Wednesday 2nd December, and we will therefore aim to reopen our facilities for first hire on Thursday 3rd December. However, should the lockdown period be extended, our halls will remain closed.
We are amending our bookings calendar to cancel all bookings up to and including 2nd December, and any pre-paid sessions will be refunded accordingly.
The main reception and office remain closed to the public, but our staff are all working from home. If you wish to speak to a member of staff, please contact us on 01462 730064. Usual office hours will be 10am - 4pm, Monday -Friday. All staff are contactable by telephone or email.
Staff can be contacted Monday - Friday on 01462 730064 or email@example.com.
Please keep yourself fully informed on latest Government and NHS updates, which will be issued on a very regular basis.
During this challenging time, with daily changes to the situation, we urge all residents to be mindful of your elderly or vulnerable neighbours. Perhaps you could offer to collect their shopping or prescriptions? This confusing and perhaps frightening time will see some people, particularly in isolation, feeling lonely. Perhaps you could consider passing those people your contact number, spend some time chatting to them on the phone, and a regular call to make sure they are still well.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to contact us. For more information on the new lockdown rules and the Government’s ‘Hands, Face, Space’ message, please visit www.gov.uk
Following the Government's current lockdown legislation, the skate park at Riverside Playing Field is now closed until further notice. This is to minimise the spread of coronavirus. Signage is being erected to make users aware of this closure. The MUGA (Multi Use Games Area) facilities at Pix Brook Area and Riverside Playing Field are also closed. Our other outdoor spaces and outdoor playgrounds remain open with restrictions in place.
Council has agreed to extend the deadline for receipt of grant applications, as we realise that local organisations and clubs will probably need funding assistance for projects more than ever before. Local organisations are invited to make application for grants that will directly benefit Stotfold, or part of it, or all or some of its inhabitants. Applications from individuals will not be considered. Please contact the Council offices for an application form and guidance notes. These can also be downloaded from our website www.stotfoldtowncouncil.gov.uk (Council/Administration/Useful Docs). Completed applications must be received (by post or email to our enquiries address) no later than Wednesday 9th December 2020
