Voluntary role opportunities - Group Scout Leader and Chairman

Both roles require very little scouting experience and all training required is provided.  The outgoing role holders are happy to discuss the roles informally.  Without these roles, the group is at risk of closure.  It is essential that new parents or community members step up and take on the challenge.

Group Scout Leader:
The GSL manages all the volunteers in the group and ensures they are fit to be part of the leader team by initially vetting them and then ensuring they are eventually trained.  They ensure a good programme is delivered to all the sections via their team both in terms of activities and resources.  They also represent the group at external events and may organise group events.
Typical time is one evening every 2 weeks.  Plus 1 group activity per quarter

Chairs executive commtitee meetings in a way that is impartial to any section concerns.  They effectively make sure all the roles of the exec. exist, are trained and are carrying out their roles.
Typical time is one evening per month.  Plus 1 or 2 civic duties per year
