National Highways - A1(M) junction 9 Letchworth Gate

We have been informed that National Highways plans to carry out an essential bridge survey on the A1(M) junction 9 Letchworth Gate. They need to carry out various extensive tests on both bridges at the Letchworth Gate Interchange. 

This work will be completed between Monday 20th January 2025 to Friday 14th March 2025. They will work weeknights only, between 9pm and 5am, weather permitting. 

To carry out the work safely, they will need to close the A1(M) at Letchworth Gate Interchange between the entry and exit slips at junction 9, and divert traffic as follows:

• Traffic travelling on the A1(M) will be diverted through the up and over slip roads and back onto the A1(M) in both directions.
