Important Road Works Information: A1(M) Junctions 7 and 8 Northbound: Essential Carriageway Repairs

Dear Customer

 

I am writing to tell you that we plan to carry out essential carriageway repair work to the A1(M) between junctions 7 and 8. Once complete, drivers will benefit from an improved road surface condition.

 

We plan to complete this work over one night on Friday 5 July. We will work between 9pm and 5am, weather permitting.

 

Closures and diversions

To carry out the work safely, we will need to close the A1(M) northbound between junctions 7 and 8, and divert traffic as follows:

 

Drivers will be diverted from the A1(M) at junction 7 onto the A602 to then take the first exit from the first roundabout and head northwards on the A1072 (Gunnels Wood Road). At the fourth roundabout, drivers will take the first exit onto A602 Hitchin Road before rejoining the A1(M) at junction 8.
